About Us

We, Robert and Liz, started our lives together as high school “sweethearts,” and then were married in July 1985. We both began our journey in Christ in August of 1987 when we were baptized at Knott Avenue Christian Church (KACC) in Anaheim, CA. We have three children; Wayne (10/88), his wife Jamie, Kathryn (4/91) and Shelby (10/94). Our family has been faithfully serving at KACC for over 23 years now.

Robert has been working at KACC since 1999. In June of 2004 he began working as the Cross-Cultural Ministry Assistant to Mike Carman (Cross-Cultural Pastor). Mike has been mentoring/discipling Robert ever since. On a daily basis Robert helps lead the Compassion Ministry at KACC including crisis counseling, benevolence, and coordinating/assisting with managing the 30+ missionaries KACC supports. He has participated in and led numerous short term mission trips around the world. Robert successfully completed the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course, receiving a Certificate of Completion and has finished classwork in New Testament Studies with RBC Ministries Christian Courses, where he is still continuing his studies.

Liz has worked in the banking and financial industry for more than 20 years, most currently with Church Development Fund (CDF). She serves on KACC’s Missions Committee as well as in Children’s Ministry. Liz has received a certificate in Christian Counseling and successfully completed the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course.

Together our family has been involved in the monthly Community Suppers hosted at KACC for our locals who want a hot meal; but more importantly love, prayers and a listening ear. They help organize KACC’s annual Operation Christmas Love, providing gifts for local families struggling to make ends meet. Robert and Liz have been sponsors for the college age group, facilitated several Bible Studies including a Love and Respect course, a current Life Group in their home, as well as co-teaching a Baptism class (Cross Training) for kids.

Each member of our family has been on the trip to San Carlos. God has been preparing our family for this move for over three years now. We have been building a team of prayer warriors around us. God’s call for us is strong and unmistakable. We know He wants us to go and share our lives and our love for Christ with the San Carlos people; meeting physical needs and building relationships.
